When Moving, Third Party Services are the Way to Go
from:When moving, third party services offer yet another option in the moving and relocation industry. When customers are in the process of moving, third party services can prepare items that are expensive, fragile, or large and difficult to manage. Additional services such as disassembly and assembly, disconnecting and reconnecting as well as crating services are done. When moving, third party services often have more time and personnel to handle the specialized requirements for preparing unusual, large or expensive items. The moving company often does not have employees with the training necessary for the job, and during peak moving season time might be limited. Consequently, third party services fill an important need in the relocation field.
Items typically handled by third party services include waterbeds, pool tables and grandfather clocks. Third party service employees are trained to prepare these items for transport, as well as custom crating if it is necessary. Other duties which may be performed by third party services are installation of plasma TV’s, home theater systems, removal of debris, dismantling swing sets and disconnecting and reconnecting spas and hot tubs. Electrical, water, and gas hookups can also be done by third party services, and should be arranged in advance. The representative of the moving company who is providing the estimate can provide information about what services are available. Some of the third party service providers’ work with moving companies and have agreements with them to provide the specialized labor needed for some items.
If something requires special attention or extra time to prepare when moving, third party services can be expected to handle it. Appliances, including making repairs, wall units, bulky exercise equipment, and pianos. Other services can range from shrink wrapping, to vacuuming after the move, to hanging mirrors and pictures. Third party services can offer custom crating of valuable objects such as glass, marble, fine artwork or even motorcycles or taxidermy. The crates are built on-site at the home of the person being moved, so there is less moving of the object and less chance of damage.
After moving, third party services can continue to provide additional help with unpacking, organizing household items, washing crystal, dusting furniture or polishing silver. Long after the moving company has departed third party services stays on providing help with window washing, hanging draperies, arranging furniture and even providing catered meals for the family. Handy man assistance can be arranged at either home as well. With many third party service providers competing for your business, the range of services available for consumers is limited only by your imagination.
